Results: 774 tCO2e (2009 baseline) / 759 tCO2e (2010) – 2% reduction
Primary Goal for 2012: Achieve ISO 14001 and reduce MIC’s carbon footprint by 5%
Measures for 2012:
- Set up a ‘Sustainability Team’ and hold quarterly meetings
- Hold quarterly staff training workshops and produce quarterly newsletters
- Complete the Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code and the Food for Life catering certification, achieving Gold Marks by the end of the year
- Gain Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) accreditation
- Recycle plastics and create recycling bin points around MIC
- Monitor, document and reduce waste production by 5%
- Finish low-energy lighting retrofit and reduce water consumption by 5%
- Investigate feasibility of a heat pump, green roof and rainwater harvesting
- Help set up new workshops with the Camden Climate Change Alliance Achieve the Green Tourism and Carbon Champion certifications
